Tiles?
When it comes to tiles, there’s a bit more to think about than you might expect. Why do we differentiate between floor and wall tiles? Surely a tile is a tile. Well, it sort of is – tiles aren’t really manufactured specifically as floor or wall tiles, but instead are made and classified according to their durability and strength. It is this classification that determines where they can be used. So it’s not really indicated to use a wall tile as a floor tile. But what about vice versa?
There are design advantages of using the same tile on the floor and and on the wall - the pattern, color, size and texture used on the tiles is continuous throughout the entire space, rather than segregating the wall and the floor. It is a personal choice which style looks better. Sometimes though, you just find a tile that you absolutely must have. You’re imagining this tile on your walls, but then find out that the product is marketed as a floor tile. This is not a problem, nor should be an impediment. The world of interior design is endless and that makes it so beautiful. Consult with a designer before making a decision. Not only they know technicalities, but they will help you make the best choice in selection while balancing your existing interior space.
